Karpet Kare Restoration Inc. is a Ontario Corporation, located in Ottawa, (Nepean). Doing business since 1980, we specialize in the restoration of carpets, rugs and vinyl flooring.

Serving our loyal residential and commercial customers for over twenty-four years, has allowed us to build a solid reputation for quality workmanship at competitive prices. We have found "word of mouth" referrals to be our best advertisement as our workmanship speaks for itself.

Our corporate clients are some of the top insurance companies, fire and flood restoration companies, property management companies in the Ottawa area. We are proud to accommodate international companies with local offices or stores. We have particular appreciation for our residential customers.

Meet The Owners

Ed Bohonsuik is the President of Karpet Kare Restoration Inc. He is a firm believer in the work ethic. Because Ed is a flooring problem solver, he has perfected carpet and vinyl repair methods.

Ed has appeared as an expert witness in courtroom litigation. He is often called in as an independent consultant to arbitrate disputes relating to issues in the trade. He is the Ottawa Technical Advisor for Shaw Industries Inc., of Dalton, Ga., USA. Shaw Industries is the world's largest manufacturer of carpeting.

Companies have found it cost effective to fly Ed as far as 500 miles and to various cities in Ontario to resolve their local carpet problems. This action has resulted in saving them thousands of dollars in replacement costs.

Personal Bio

Ed has filled various positions over the years. He began as a logger in the forests of British Columbia and later worked for the British Columbia Forest Service fighting forest fires. He wanted a change, so he camped across Canada from British Columbia to New Foundland in 1967. It took him six months. It was Canada's Centennial year and he wanted to "see" this beautiful country. He settled in Ottawa, working in the provincial courts. Some years later he learned to install in-ground swimming pools to support himself while engaging in Christian missionary work. Upon marrying Ruth, a widow with two children, he became an independent contractor, installing and restoring carpet. Ed definitely prefers to run his own company and this dream finally became a reality in 1990 when he founded Karpet Kare Restoration Inc.

Ed is an avid camper and an Abraham Lincoln and American Civil War history expert. He also loves to play golf.

Over the past 30 years Ed has regularly donated his time and expertise on certain charitable projects and community services.

Ruth Bohonsuik is Ed's wife and Vice President of the company. Ruth is usually the one who answers the telephone when you call. She also produces all printed and digital advertising, marketing, website design and graphics in-house.

Personal Bio
Ruth was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has lived in Ottawa since 1964.
Ed married Ruth in 1979. She was a widow with two children. They share one son and reside in Ottawa.

While Ruth misses her huge loving family in Cincinnati very much, she says her life has been deeply enriched by living in cosmopolitan Ottawa, Canada. A further enrichment has been to personally know such a wide variety of people from so many different countries of the world, as well as learning their cuisines.

Ruth regularly performs community services. She is also a published poet and researcher. She enjoys computers, creating graphics, music, and entertaining, along with intelligent stimulating conversation. She is renown in Ottawa as a fabulous cook and a gracious hostess by hundreds who have sampled her culinary delights. She has various hobbies as you can see at the family's personal site.
